Service-Based Snow Season Entry and Hiking Management
From January 2 to March 31, 2025, Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters will implement snow season entry and hiking guidelines, prioritizing service and accessibility over control measures.
-
Application Categories
The snow season is divided into General Applications and Snow Training Applications. Detailed regulations can be found in the "Application Guide for Entry into Ecological Protection Areas during the 2025 Shei-Pa Snow Season," available for download here: link.
-
General Application Group Size and Requirements
General applications are limited to groups of 1-6 people, including the leader. A self-checklist for snow climbing equipment and skills is required. For those applying to access the Shengleng Trail, an additional mountain safety management assessment form must be submitted, with a recommended group size of three or more.
-
Leader Qualifications
Leaders should review their qualifications in snow training or snow climbing guide certification; however, they do not need to submit proof of training or certification.
-
Designated Snow Training Campsite Requirements
When snowfall in the glacial cirques reaches 30 cm or more, specific areas within the cirques will be opened for use by snow training teams as designated campsites. Snow training teams are required to camp only within these designated areas and are asked not to set up camps outside the authorized zones. Additionally, teams must submit an Ecological Self-Assessment Checklist.
