Released by:Yushan National Park Headquarters
1. The Hike Smart Taiwan website (https://hike.taiwan.gov.tw/en/) will remain operational during the Lunar New Year Holidays from February 14th to February 22nd, 2026. However, applications will only be processed, and emails replied to, after the holidays.
2. Applications must be submitted online at least five days before the entry date (available from 07:00 to 23:00). For “other trails,” applications must be submitted at least ten days prior. Visitors planning to enter the park between February 14th and 16th must adhere to the standard deadlines. Applications for park entry from February 17th to February 23rd must be submitted by 15:00 on February 12th to allow processing before the holiday break. Late applications will be rejected without further notice.
3. No lottery draws will take place during the Lunar New Year Holidays. For the lottery schedule, please refer to this link: https://hike.taiwan.gov.tw/en/news_0_1.aspx?id=4667.
4. Since applications will not be processed during the holiday period, visitors planning entry soon after the holidays must ensure all submitted data is complete and accurate to avoid delays. For assistance, please contact us after 08:30 on February 23rd, 2026.
5. Yushan National Park experiences a relatively dry winter season. Visitors are advised to plan their water supply carefully, carry adequate amounts, and conserve water. Due to high wildfire risk, camping, picnicking, cooking, lighting fires, and other similar activities are prohibited outside designated areas or without prior authorization.
6. Day hikes to Mt. Jade Main Peak are unavailable during snow control measures. However, 2- to 5-day hikes and day hikes to Mt. Jade Front Peak remain accessible.
7. Trails above 3,000 meters in our park are likely to be icy and snowy during the Lunar New Year holidays. The snow control measures are already in effect. Visitors must monitor the latest weather updates from the Central Weather Administration, prepare for various conditions, and prioritize safety. Assess weather risks, team members’ experience, and their ability to hike in snow. Essential snow equipment, including helmets, crampons, and ice axes, should be carried. Avoid dangerous routes, and remember, safety comes first. For detailed snow updates, visit: https://hike.taiwan.gov.tw/en/news_0_1.aspx?id=4743.
Happy holidays
