A patrol was sent by YSNP to check the trail condition between Paiyun Lodge and Yushan Main Peak on Feb. 18^th. Even with a 12-teeth crampon and an ice axe, the frozen trail is still too icy and dangerous for regular hikers who don’t have related snow climbing experience according to the survey result. Snow Control remains in Yushan National Park due to the extreme weather, climbers are strongly required to be cautious about the change of weather, personal climbing equipment and climbing technique. Please keep updating the latest snow and road condition, prepare adequate snow climbing equipment and understand your own health condition. Training before hiking is highly recommended. Experienced professional team leader or coach is crucial for a safe trip. Team leader or coach is supposed to be able to detect and cope with any bad condition.
