According to the survey conducted on March 25 for the trail from Paiyun Lodge to the Main Peak, there’s still some snow on the section of sheer cliff path surrounded by the iron cage, which doesn’t prevent visitors from passing it. It’s not necessary to use crampons to reach the Main Peak. On the other hand, for the trail to the four southern peaks, the path to Sancha Peak and Nanyu Mountain is still covered by snow. Visitors need to wear crampons for passing that part of the trail. The temperature on mountains is still low. At Paiyun Lodge, it’s around -2 °C in the evening. Be aware of the sudden change of the weather and physical condition, and make sure to keep yourselves warm. Groups applied for Yushan South Peak and Nanyu Mountain need are required to have solid competence using snow/ice climbing gear. All visitors have to be aware of the condition of group members, trail, and snow. If it’s difficult or dangerous, please do not attempt to pass. (Visitors going to the areas above 3000m in the park need to pay attention when passing snowy or slippery trail and bring necessary gears in order to ensure the hiking safety.)
