Due to the Taroko Gorge Marathon taking place on the 1st December 2018, the section of road between Tianxiang and the Taroko National Park Visitor's Center will be closed to traffic on this day. Zhuilu Old Road will not be accepting applications intended for the 1st December 2018.
In detail:
- The Taroko Gorge Marathon is scheduled to be held on the 1st December 2018. The section of the Central Cross-Island Highway (Provincial Highway 8) between Tianxiang Recreational Area and the Taroko National Park Visitor's Center will be closed to traffic on this day for media purposes. Additionally, there will be no entrance to Zhuilu Old Road on this day due to the closure of this section of road, and the application system will be blocked on this day for this trail only.
- The section of road closed between the Taroko National Park Visitor's Center and the Tianxiang Recreational Area will be reopened at 14:00 on the 1st December 2018. Entrance to Zhuilu Old Road will be resumed as normal at 07:00 on the 2nd December 2018.
