The Nantou Management Office of the National Forestry Bureau has announced that, in consideration of the safety of hikers, the western section of the Nenggao Historic Trail and Tianchi Cabin will be closed. This is due to the heavy rains that have caused land and mudslides, affecting the trails in the vicinity. The trail and cabin will be re-opened when the weather becomes more stable and the trails are safely restored.

In line with the above information released by the Forestry Bureau, the Taroko National Park Headquarters suggests that hikers not travel to Qilai South Peak during the affected period.
