During the Wuling Cherry Blossom Season from February 8 to February 29, 2024, traffic control measures will be implemented in the Wuling area. Our unit will coordinate by controlling the vehicles of mountain climbing teams entering this area and assist in issuing vehicle passes for these teams. Additionally, to prevent the misuse of applying for vehicle passes through mountain hut and campsite applications, special regulations have been established for violations during this period. Public cooperation is kindly requested.
Mountain Climbing Team Vehicle Control Measures The vehicle control measures for mountain climbers during the Cherry Blossom Season include:
-
For day-trip climbing teams entering and exiting Wuling Farm (including Xue Mountain and Wuling Quadruple Mountains) and staying in the Park for only one day, vehicle passes will not be issued to avoid traffic congestion caused by numerous vehicles. Climbers are advised to use legal public transportation. Those staying in Wuling Farm hotels or camping areas the day before or after can apply for passes through their accommodation providers.
-
For multi-day climbing teams entering Wuling Farm (including Xue Mountain and Wuling Quadruple Mountains), the Administration will accept vehicle pass applications starting January 15, 2024. Team leaders should download the blank vehicle registration form from the "Taiwan National Park Entry and Mountain Climbing Online Application Service" and submit the filled form at least three days before entering the park by email (email: permit.spnp@gmail.com) or fax (Wuling Management Station Fax: 04-25901310). Passes will be issued by the Wuling Management Station and sent by email (PDF file) to the applicant.
-
Multi-day climbing teams must obtain vehicle passes before entering Wuling Farm and parking at Xueshan Trailhead or Wuling Villa parking areas. The timing of entry/exit and fixed-point management of vehicles will be as per announcements by the Veterans Affairs Council Wuling Farm.
Explanation of Violation Penalties During the Cherry Blossom Season To protect the accommodation rights of climbing teams and prevent misuse of vehicle pass applications through mountain hut and campsite applications, violators who do not stay in the applied mountain huts/campsites during the Cherry Blossom Season traffic control period, or who enter the park with previously issued vehicle passes after canceling their park entry, will face combined penalties of fines and a three-year ban on park entry. Climbers unable to enter the park as scheduled should cancel their entry permit five days before the scheduled entry via the park entry application website to allow waitlisted individuals to take their place. For last-minute cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances, applications should be made on the day of entry through the park's official email (https://hike.taiwan.gov.tw/mail_2.aspx), providing proof of the emergency situation (cancellations are not accepted if the vehicle pass has already been used to enter Wuling Farm). Once the park entry permit is canceled, the previously issued vehicle pass becomes void and cannot be used.
Safety Precautions for Cherry Blossom Viewing and Mountain Climbing During the Cherry Blossom Season, with increased vehicle and foot traffic, visitors are urged to comply with the traffic management measures of Wuling Farm. For detailed measures, please refer to the announcements on the Directorate General of Highways (https://www.thb.gov.tw) and Wuling Farm (https://www.wuling-farm.com.tw) websites. Additionally, given that the Wuling Recreation Area is located at an altitude of about 1,750 meters, visitors should monitor weather forecasts, wear adequate warm clothing, and ensure safety while traveling and engaging in activities. Visitors are also advised to practice proper waste disposal and reduce littering, avoid feeding macaques, and be cautious with personal belongings to minimize the chances of macaques snatching food and to preserve the natural ecology of the Wuling area. Those planning mountain climbing activities should obtain the necessary park entry permits as per regulations when entering national park ecological conservation areas. Adequate preparation is essential, especially during the snow season, and climbers should carefully assess weather conditions and their capabilities to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip.
