The Directorate General of Highways initially implemented traffic control measures for the Wuling Cherry Blossom Season from February 8 to February 23, 2025. However, during the "2025 Wuling Farm Cherry Blossom Season Traffic Coordination Meeting" held on February 19, Wuling Farm and the Directorate General of Highways jointly decided to extend the measures until March 2, 2025.
Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters (hereinafter referred to as "Shei-Pa HQ") will continue to enforce vehicle control measures for mountain climbing teams entering the Wuling area and will assist the Veterans Affairs Council Wuling Farm in issuing vehicle passes for approved teams. To prevent the misuse of entry permits for cherry blossom viewing without actual park entry, special penalty regulations for violations during the Cherry Blossom Season have been established. Public cooperation is kindly requested.
Vehicle Control Measures for Mountain Climbing Teams
The vehicle control measures for mountain climbing visitors during the 2025 Wuling Cherry Blossom Season are as follows:
-
One-Day Round-Trip Climbing Teams
-
Approved teams entering and exiting Wuling Farm (including the Xueshan Trailhead and Wuling Quadruple Mountains Trailheads) for a single day will not be issued vehicle passes to avoid congestion caused by numerous vehicles traveling early and returning late. Climbers are advised to use legal public transportation.
-
However, teams that submitted applications and were approved before the announcement date (February 20) will not be affected but must still obtain a vehicle pass.
-
Those staying at Wuling Farm hotels or campsites the day before or after may apply for passes through their accommodation providers.
-
Multi-Day Climbing Teams
-
For approved teams entering Wuling Farm for multi-day trips (including the Xueshan Trailhead and Wuling Quadruple Mountains Trailheads), Shei-Pa HQ has been accepting vehicle pass applications since January 15, 2025.
-
Team leaders must download a blank vehicle registration form from the "Hike Smart Taiwan Service" and submit the completed form via email (permit.spnp@gmail.com) or fax (Shei-Pa HQ Wuling Management Station Fax: 04-25901310, Phone: 04-25901316).
-
Vehicle passes will be issued by the Wuling Management Station and sent to applicants via email in PDF format.
-
Parking and Access
-
Multi-day climbing teams must obtain vehicle passes before entering Wuling Farm. Vehicles may park at the Xueshan Trailhead or Wuling Villa parking areas.
-
Entry and exit times, as well as vehicle management measures, will follow announcements by the Veterans Affairs Council Wuling Farm.
Safety Reminders for Cherry Blossom Viewing and Mountain Climbing
During the Cherry Blossom Season, with increased vehicle and foot traffic, visitors are urged to comply with the traffic management measures announced by the Directorate General of Highways (https://www.thb.gov.tw) and Wuling Farm (https://www.wuling-farm.com.tw).
Since the Wuling Recreation Area is situated at an altitude of approximately 1,750 meters, visitors should monitor weather forecasts, wear adequate warm clothing, and exercise caution during activities. Proper waste disposal and litter reduction are encouraged. Visitors should not feed macaques and should secure their belongings to prevent macaque-related incidents.
For those planning mountain climbing activities, obtaining the required park entry permits as per regulations for national park ecological conservation areas is essential. Adequate preparation, especially during the snow season, and careful assessment of weather conditions and personal capabilities are crucial to ensuring a safe and enjoyable trip.
