Snowfall had occurred in Yushan area during the evening of March 23rd around 10pm, and the accumulated snow had reached 3cm of thickness. Yushan Main Peak trails, including the section from Gravel Slope (碎石坡) to Main Peak Summit, the section leading to North Peak trails, and section leading to Yuenfung trails, are currently covered with snow. As the trails are frozen and slippery, we want to remind all visitors to bring along proper snow hiking equipment, in order to ensure safety. On-site provisional snow hiking safety controls will take effect. Visitors with approved Park Entry Permits but without proper snow hiking equipment can only travel as far as Paiyun Lodge, and will not be allowed to advance further.

Yushan National Park will timely adjust the safety controls according to weather conditions.

Notes:

1. As the trails beyond the Gravel Slope area are frozen with packed ice, teams that had applied for recent Paiyun Lodge lodging arrangements (starting 03/23/2015 and until weather conditions allow the lifting of on-site controls) will be eligible for refund if they ended up canceling the trip.

2. Refund related regulations and refund application form can be found at  https://mountain.ysnp.gov.tw/chinese/CP_Download.aspx?pg=03&w=1&n=3002
