Guigu Lodge Application Instructions

  1. If you are unable to keep your reservation or the number of guests is reduced for some reason, please use your application account to apply for modification or cancellation. Refunds are based on the first day of the stay as the starting date. The bed cancellation and refund regulations are as follows:
    (1) If the order is successfully canceled 5 days before the start date, the paid amount will be fully refunded.
    (2) If the cancellation is successful between 3 and 4 days before the start date, 50% of the paid amount will be refunded.
    (3) If the bed is canceled within 2 days before the start date or the group is a no-show, the amount paid will not be refunded.
  2. After the lodge application form is accepted, if the team needs to reduce or increase the number of days, it can be processed by canceling the application form and applying again.
  3. The information of the above applicants will be handled by this office in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations on personal data protection.
  4. Those who are not listed in the accommodation application list or who do not bring their documents will not be allowed to stay.
  5. Check-in and check-out time regulations:Check-in time starts from 1 pm. Check-out time should be completed before noon.
  6. Those who have been approved for accommodation should bring proof of payment, identification documents with photos, etc., for information verification by personnel appointed by officials at the old trailhead control station of Beida Wushan National Trail and Higu Valley Lodge. After entering the trail, you are not allowed to change the camping location or itinerary without authorization.
  7. People who apply to enter the Beida Wushan National Trail to engage in mountaineering activities must bring their own meals, tents, sleeping bags, oxygen bottles and medical supplies for personal health needs.
  8. If a typhoon warning is issued, forest fires occur, natural disasters or other factors cause trail interruption or emergencies, the officials may issue additional emergency measures to prohibit people from entering, and cancel the accommodation qualifications for mountain lodges and campsites during that period. If you have entered the trail area, you should evacuate as soon as possible in accordance with regulations.
  9. Part of the Beida Wushan National Trail is located within the "Shuanggui Lake Important Wildlife Habitat". Except for approved academic research, it is strictly prohibited to harass, capture, hunt wild animals, collect specimens, destroy the original condition of the trail, or leave behind any unused items. Violators will be prosecuted in accordance with Articles 41 and 42 of the Wildlife Conservation Act.
  10. There are many wild animals in the Beida Wushan National Trail area. In order to avoid affecting their foraging behavior, there are no trash cans. Visitors should carry out their own garbage, kitchen waste and food to help protect the natural ecology.
  11. Reminders for entering the trail:
    (a) Do not discard garbage and waste arbitrarily.
    (b) Camping, barbecuing, making noise, carrying broadcasting equipment or playing music outside designated areas is prohibited.
    (c) Road conditions in mountainous areas are unstable and rockfalls or landslides are prone to occur. Please do not stay or take photos in dangerous places such as rockfall areas or landslides. Wild animals such as goats, wild boars, venomous snakes, wasps, and yellow-throated martens are often found in mountainous areas. The public is advised to pay attention to their own safety at all times, keep a distance, and do not interfere with or feed the animals.
    (d) Travel in groups and do not leave the group on your own, deviate from the route or take shortcuts.
    (e) Water resources are scarce in mountainous areas, so please conserve water. Please use fire carefully when cooking to prevent forest fires. If a forest fire occurs due to this, according to Article 53 of the Forest Law, the person will be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than two years, criminal detention, or a fine of up to NT$300,000 and compensation for losses.
  12. The construction of a mountain lodge is not easy. Visitors are kindly requested to work together to maintain the facilities, public property and environment of the lodges.
  13. If an applicant team meets the following circumstances, their application and stay at Higu Valley Lodge and surrounding campsites will be suspended.
    (a) Those who make loud noises in the mountain lodge or camp and still do not improve after being dissuaded will be suspended from National Park application status for three to six months, depending on the severity of the case.
    (b) Anyone who fails to move in according to the occupancy list at the time of application will be suspended from National Park application status for one year.
    (c) If it is found that anyone is staying in a mountain lodge or camp without the relevant certification documents and identification documents for the mountain lodge or camp occupancy permit, the entire group will be suspended from National Park application status for one year and must bear relevant legal responsibilities.
    (d) Applicants who misappropriate another person’s identity card number will be suspended for one year.
    (e) If the above situation occurs three times or more within three years (inclusive), the rights will be permanently suspended.
    (f) If someone is allowed to stay without applying and without the approval of the lodge manager based on the on-site situation, all group members shall be suspended for six months.
    (g) If improper use of fire causes a disaster, all members of the team will be permanently suspended and will be liable for legal and related damages.
    (h) If you use illegal programs to apply on or otherwise interfere with the application system thus causing damage to the rights and interests of others or damage to the system, all group members will be permanently suspended and must bear relevant legal responsibilities.

The "all group members" mentioned above includes the actual check-in list and the people on the application list.

* To enhance mountaineering safety, people who apply for entry approval are requested to prepare and carry a satellite positioning system in advance or download the satellite positioning system app on their mobile phones so that in the event of a mountain accident, the location coordinates can be provided in real time.

* Please be sure that the team leader is responsible for leading the team and maintaining the safety of the team members.

* If a maritime typhoon warning is issued, the rainfall reaches the heavy rainfall standard (200 mm / 24 hours), or an early warning closure is adopted, the trails, mountain lodges, and campsites will be temporarily closed. The public is urged not to enter, and those who have already entered are asked to evacuate as soon as possible to protect their own safety.
