Notice for Park Entry Application during Chinese New Year 2020

  1. During the Chinese New Year Holidays from 23 to 29 January 2020, the park entry permit application website (https://hike.taiwan.gov.tw) remains available but we will not check or approve any application during this period.

 

  1. All applications need to be submitted online at least 5 days before the entry day (online application is available from 7:00 to 23:00). For those who plan to enter the park from 23 to 25 January, please submit the application before the deadline. For those who plan to enter the park from 26 to 30 January, please submit the application no later than 23:00 of 21 January so that we can approve your application in time. Late application will be denied without additional notice.

 

  1. The lottery draw will not be held during Chinese New Year. For the lottery schedule, please check the link below:

  1. Since we will not check the application during Chinese New Year, those who plan to enter the park soon after the holidays should make sure all data is complete and correct so that we can approve the application in time. If you have any question, please call us after 08:30 of 30 January. We will be back to assist you for park entry application.

 

  1. Day hike to Mt. Jade Main Peak is not available from January to March since it’s more likely to snow. 2 to 5 days’ hike and a day hike to Mt. Jade Front Peak remains open.

 

  1. The trails above 3,000 m in the park might be icy and it might snow during the Chinese New Year. Groups entering during this period are suggested to check the latest forecast of the Central Weather Bureau and be prepared and flexible for all kinds of situations. Please evaluate all kind of risks, weather, members’ experience and competence of hiking in the snow. If it does snow, please bring the equipment for hiking in the snow (particularly, helmets, crampons, and ice axes). If it’s difficult or dangerous, please do not attempt to pass. Safety First.
